Vanderbilt to participate in Big Ten/SEC tripleheader at Bridgestone Arena in August

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt volleyball’s year of firsts continues with the Commodores’ participation in the inaugural Broadway Block Party women’s college volleyball tournament on Aug. 31 at Bridgestone Arena, the Nashville Sports Council and ESPN Events announced Tuesday.

“I want to extend a huge thank you to the Nashville Sports Council for including us in the inaugural Broadway Block Party,” head coach Anders Nelson said. “Competing in Bridgestone Arena will be an extra special experience for our athletes and staff as we proudly rep the SEC in front of our home crowd.”

Vanderbilt will face Illinois (18-13, 10-10 Big Ten in 2024) in the final match of the day, which will be broadcast on SEC Network. The Illini made their 28th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in 2024, while the Commodores will kick off their reinstated program’s historic inaugural season one week prior at the AVCA First Serve Showcase on Aug. 23 in Lincoln Nebraska.

The event’s other matchups include Nebraska versus Kentucky and Purdue versus Tennessee.

Tickets go on sale for public access on March 13 at NashvilleSports.com/Broadway-Block-Party. All three matches will be available to watch with one ticket purchase.
