Kara Kroeger

Chief Business Officer

Kara Kroeger first joined Vanderbilt Athletics in an interim capacity as chief business officer in December 2024, assuming the role in a full-time position in the following April.

While new to athletics, Kroeger has been a member of the university staff since she first joined as a higher education administration professional fellow in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Finance in 2017. She moved to the Office of Risk and Insurance Management two years later, followed by a role in Financial Planning & Analysis as a senior financial analyst, a position she held until earning a promotion to finance manager in 2024.

A former Vanderbilt cheerleader and intern with the football recruiting staff, she received her undergraduate degree in communications studies with a corporate strategy minor in 2017, In June 2024, she added a master of business administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

A longtime Vanderbilt fan originally from Hendersonville, Tennessee, Kroeger and her husband Mike—a former graduate assistant with the Commodore football program—have one son, Tyler. She is a board member of the Hillsboro West End Neighborhood and Chamber Music City, a local music non-profit.
