Two Dores registered program all-time top 10 marks, six recorded top-5 event finishes

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt Track and Field team recorded two event wins, two program all-time top-10 marks and six personal bests Saturday at the Georgia Tech Invitational.

The Commodores got the morning started with a second-place finish in the 4×100-meter relay. Ella Escobar, Tina Benzinger, Alima Kassim and Josie Donelson turned in a time of 45.70 seconds.

In the triple jump, Anaya Webster earned fifth place with a 11.87-meter mark.

Allyria McBride clocked 56.32 seconds to win the 400-meter hurdles. In the same event, Madyson Wilson and Isabella Dagrosa recorded personal-best times of 59.43 seconds and 1:00.36.

Donelson was the first freshman and second overall finisher in the 400 meters, turning in a time of 53.73 seconds. Escobar recorded a personal-best time of 55.21 seconds in the 400.

In the 800 meters, Eva Gautreaux, who placed 10th with a time of 2:10.97, and Johna Grisik, who came in 26th with a time of 2:15.33, both notched personal bests.

Registering a time of 23.85 seconds, Benzinger placed third in the 200 meters and moved to the No. 4 spot in the program all-time top 10 evet rankings. Santana Spearman and Taylor McKinnon PRed in the 200 meters with respective times of 25.09 and 25.24 seconds.

To end the weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational, the 4×400-meter relay squad of McBride, Joy Moorer, Madyson Wilson and Donelson recorded an event win and the No. 4 time in program history, 3:36.08.

At Mt. SAC Relays, Falon Spearman placed 10th in the invitational elite division of the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.48 seconds.

Looking ahead, Vanderbilt track and field will take a weekend off before hosting the Music City Challenge May 2-3 to close out the regular season.
